The high tea itself was held at Sophias in Lynnwood (Pretoria) and was quaint and charming - a full house for sure, the treats laid out was an absolute delight – yummy – I can still taste that gorgeous red velvet cake.Meeting wonderful ladies did not stop at the Ideas editorial team – I went on to meet other wonderful and creative women – Two women who really made an impression on me was a lovely lady called Gina and another lovely lady called Lindie. Gina has a gift wrapping company in Alberton and Lindie bakes charming cakes (her home industry is in Centurion). Above is her rendition of baby cakes (Ideas Creativity Finalist)– the characters are inspired by the children’s book My Bed is my Bed by Mij Kelley. The baby cakes are a little bigger than cupcakes and the process for making them is more or less the same as for cake pops, but instead of dipping them in chocolate, you cover them in fondant icing.
