The high tea itself was held at Stephanies in Lynnwood (Pretoria) and was quaint and charming - a full house of ladies, the treats laid out was an absolute delight – yummy – I can still taste that gorgeous red velvet cake.
Alongside is her rendition of baby cakes – the characters are inspired by the children’s book My Bed is my Bed by Mij Kelley. The baby cakes are a little bigger than cupcakes and the process for making them is more or less the same as for cake pops, but instead of dipping them in chocolate, you cover them in fondant icing (click here to see how to make them).
Lindie has also created a notice board platform for South African women to come together and pretty much find whatever they need in one spot. Her site is called “Vir Elke Vrou” - literally translated means for every women – check it out here – you could find something useful.
There is so much creativity out there. It really got me thinking, aside from home and crafting industries, there is no huge platform to showcase and share what South African women have to offer. Hmmm, pondering on that thought...
